Bulegreen: Adorable outdoor brunch spot .5 mile from the house. Don't go too hungry, there is usually a little wait, but completely worth it. Get the rocket fuel, I mean coffee and cheesy bread!

Las Olas is a great street with tons of restaurants, shops and bars. Pretend you're in Europe and just bop around and find a restaurant that looks right or head to Salt7 for a good meal and fun ambiance.
Oakland Park Playground: A cute, fun playground with a library (bathroom), tennis courts and basketball courts.
Butterfly World: A fun (and humid) tropical paradise. It's a nice way to spend a few hours with a snack bar at the end.
Water Taxi: Hope on / off the water taxi to a restaurant or to my favorite park, Birch State Park. The water taxi also offers sunset cruises.

Bonnet House Museum & Garden: A beautiful and quirky home by the beach and across from Birch Park.
